These three types of bags are probably the most practical amongst all bags, and I believe that any woman’s life would be a lot harder if we didn’t have this choice. Did you know that back in Ancient Egypt, women also carried their necessities when they went on formal events? However, that looked a bit different than how it appears today, because those women had makeup in jars, not small bottles that we use today, so their bag was actually a case! But, it seems like the more choices we have, the more difficult it is for us to make up our minds, right? By answering these next five simple questions, I believe that you’ll find it easier to decide, and before you know it, you’ll make a routine out of it.

What Kind of Event Is It?

You probably have several different styles of bags within these three types, right? So, depending on what kind of an event you want to attend, you should be able to shorten down your choice to only those bags that match that particular occasion. It’s pretty simple – if it’s a black tie event, you shouldn’t carry something you would usually take to the gym, right? But, that doesn’t mean you can’t pull off an outfit with an elegant messenger bag if you need to have your laptop with you, which brings us further to the next question!

How Much Items You Plan on Having with You?

If it’s just makeup, a wallet, keys and a phone, you’ll be able to fit that right into a purse. But then again, there are all kinds of purses. I usually decide to go with a clutch-like hands-free purse, so I can do whatever I like without having one hand practically attached to my bag. If the occasion is something more casual, like a cup of coffee with friends, I always bring my backpack, because I can place all my necessities along with my gym equipment if that’s where I’m headed, for example.

What Kind of an Outfit Do You Have On?

This question refers to the style of a certain bag. Today, you can pull off practically any combo of colors, so that shouldn’t be an issue, but it’s not recommended to match a canvas messenger bag with an evening gown. But, there’s a simple solution for this situation when you need more than only a few necessary items with you, which may happen if a black tie event requires some traveling. A nice leather messenger bag can fit everything you need for this kind of a sleepover, but you can’t really match it with a classy dress, right? Well, all you have to do is pack a purse or a clutch into your messenger bag and voila – you’re ready to go!

Do You Feel Comfortable with the Final Appearance?

Fashion is all about you – with so many different clothing items you can put on, you can easily let “the inside you” out! So, if you don’t like what you see in the mirror, change something! By doing this, no matter if you’re an amateur or not, you’ll have your own style and people will appreciate it! Just bear in mind that, like with anything else, this is something you need to learn, and it requires time and patience. Not even the most talented and famous names in fashion earned their reputation overnight.

Take Your Time!

By following several unspoken rules that you’re probably already familiar with, like not wearing formal clutches with sneakers for example, you’ll be on your way of becoming a true fashionista. If you’re interested into this subject, you’re probably also interested in fashion in general, so don’t waste any more time pointlessly scrolling your News Feed page, but find some time to like and follow people and pages which can inspire your outfit. This may be pointless at the beginning, because you’ll probably just copy the things you see, but if you decide to be persistent, you’ll notice that you’re matching your clothes, bags and shoes more easily, and that you’re more satisfied with your reflection in the mirror!

I hope this was helpful and that you’ll be able to apply these small pieces of advice the very next time you have a problem.
